Welcome to St. Mary’s School website.  St. Mary’s School belongs to the Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division.  St. Mary’s offers pre-kindergarten to grade 8 education.  We serve approximately 230 students each year.

Our faith journey is at the core of all we do at St. Mary’s.  We have weekly Gospel Assemblies to ensure all students are receiving the Word of the Lord.  This is presented to the students by the students.  We attend full masses as a school four or five times throughout the year as well.  Catholic values and ethics are part of who we are at St. Mary’s.

St. Mary’s is able to offer a full range of academic services to our students.  Our learning facilitator teachers, professional support staff, and educational assistants all work together to provide an inclusive environment.  Differentiated instruction is part of our daily lessons ensuring students are engaged in lessons that are specific to student abilities and interests.  Interactive whiteboards are available in virtually every classroom as well so students have access to education through current use of technology.

Extra-curricular opportunities are important areas that allow students to grow as students and citizens within our community.  We offer after school sports leagues for grades 5 & 6 as well as 7 & 8.  Some sports include: cross-country running, volleyball, curling, basketball, badminton, track and field.  We also provide students from grade 3 to 8 with intramural programs during recess breaks.

St. Mary’s school community council meets monthly to ensure plans are in place to assist the school in achieving the learning goals that have been set on a yearly basis.  The council has supported student learning through guest speakers, author visits, financial support for school based programs and supplies as well as student activities.

Central to St. Mary’s Mission and Vision are the Christian values that permeate through the school.  These values allow for the development of the whole students academically, spiritually, emotionally and socially.
